Cavallino Bianco our current house of 4****stars, has a long historical tradition. Long time ago, it had been one of the oldest farmsteads of St. Ulrich. Its name had been changed more times during its long history.

In year 1448 was meant at first time with the name “ Gillardon” in a historical document. In 1665 “Urhof” calling became for many generations a very famous mountain farm in the Dolomites. Ever-changing its name like “Ur”, “Ober-Ur”, “Pillwirt” ending by “Hotel Post-White horse”- “Hotel Posta-Cavallino-Bianco” where was winding up the old Austrian post during the 19th and 20th century.

For decades travelled from this Hotel stagecoach. The post, passengers and goods had been delivered two times a day to other cities of South Tyrol.

In the first half of 20th century during the second world war there began hard times for the owners of this Hotel. At this time Family Lardschneider decided to sale their property for political reasons and their hotel was taken over by a public administration. During the next 2 decades the hotel was going to rack and ruin.

In year 1958 Mr Leo Obletter, a famous sculptor and dealer of sculptors products, bought this house. Then, he and his family initiated the reconstruction of the hotel. They were really hardworking and full of determination. The hotel became back at the beginning of the last century its good reputation.

Nowadays Mr. Ralph A. Riffeser (the nephew of Mr. Leo Obletter) is leading the hotel and is always striving to guarantee the quality and the best service and to realize the new concept for families with children.

In the years 2001/2002 and 2005 there was the time of reconstruction including the new plans and the innovative marketing strategy of creating the first Family Grand Hotel.

Now the Cavallino Bianco family spa Grand Hotel**** is specialized for family needs. It is totally rebuild and offers 4 new restaurants with all inclusive arrangement, bar, entrance hall, garage, 104 new rooms and suites, 3000 square yards of spa with beauty center, 5 different saunas and 4 swimming pools. Furthermore daily assistance and entertainment from 8.30 to 10. p.m in the new Baby-, Mini and Junior Club on over 1000 square yards, nursery, jumping castle, theatre and cinema, fruit juices all day and a lot of other surprises.
